rhythm games

If there is one genre of videogames that I truly love, outside of platformers, it's rhythm games. GameSpot complied a list of the 10 best rhythm games ever...
http://www.gamespot.com/features/6142896/index.html

Parappa the Rapper - of course, it invented the whole genre, gotta give it props.
Samba de Amigo - allowed you to let the crazy inner mexican in you free to play maracas.
Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan! - not in America yet, but looks promising at most.
Girtaroo-Man - wow, what a surprise this game was. great songs, lots of challenge too.
vib-ribbon - allowed you to interact with any CD you put into the PS1, which sounds awesome, too bad it never hit America.
Guitar Freaks - Bemani's guitar game, geared more towards fans of J-Rock then anything else.
Bust-A-Groove - never played it, but I always thought it looked cool.
Frequency - maybe, simply because Amplitude was its sequel, but Amplitude was so much better.
Guitar Hero - up there in my all-time favorite party games, the type of game that could get anyone interested in the genre.
Dance Dance Revolution 3rd Mix - DDR is the kind of game that'll change your life, sadly.

Notable Admissions: Amplitude, Um Jammer Lammy, Taiko Drum Master, and Space Channel 5

Personal Favorite: toss-up between Um Jammer Lammy and Guitar Hero...I would add DDR if I were good at it.

I'd put Space Channel Five in place of Bust-A-Groove. I wish I could play Samba de Amigo but that game runs for like $100 now with the maraccas....

I forgot to add Rez, it's in the same situation as Samba.
